This was my first Christmas hosting a big dinner and my first time cooking lamb. I am not much of a cook but it turned out awesome:) 

 

Wildfires!

I took these from my back porch on Saturday, luckily it was contained to this field.

These fires have been popping up all over Texas. Scary!

 

New Doll and Other Stuff

Sometimes I feel like I’m in a hamster wheel, always so busy but nothing to show for it:( I do have like 15 dolls in various stages and I actually finished one last week. 

Little Karen was a custom order for a really cool lady. She is a bit smaller than my usual girls, around 12”

What else... My BFF, Tiffany got married this summer so I’ve been out of town a lot. We had her bachelorette party in Fredericksburg, a quant little tourist town with lots of wineries and shopping. Unfortunately, Tiff’s dad had a medical emergency and she couldn't make it; thankfully he is okay. 

So it wound up being just Kristi and myself but we still had a lovely weekend.

We had a great little cottage complete with claw foot tub and Texas shaped sink:)

Yes we are nerds and decorated anyway... BTW, Kristi is responsible for many of these pictures:)

The wedding was beautiful, and Tiffany was stunning- I am so in love with her dress, ruffles galore!

Hello, Happy New Year. Heres a peek at my table, just the usual. 

I also wanted to share some adorableness from my visit with Aunt Becky over the holidays. She lives out in the middle of nowhere, I absolutely love her place and all her critters... and her of course! 

 

 

This is Chula, I don’t love her so much. She’ll pretend she’s going to be nice and then try to bite or snot on you. Not nice.

 I have been busy gutting my studio, I just meant to add some table space but accidentally wound up painting walls, making furniture (well trying), hanging shelves-the works. Hopefully that will be finished this week. 

And of course I have lots of little clay heads on my table waiting for some attention. I’ll post pics soon, and I promise not to stay away so long. 

 

New Dollies

 
 They are finally ready! I am really happy with this group, I think this is the first time I have been able to dive in to my work without the distractions of a day job or some deadline. 

I think my dolls inadvertently have a little something from people I’ve encountered in life. I often cannot pinpoint where these things come from, perhaps something about a stranger on the sidewalk captivated me and I buried that image in my subconscious... but occasionally, to my delight I see my friends in the dolls. Richelle, Heddy and Simone remind me of three of my dear friends.

Hello, I didn’t mean to stay away for so long. I bought a fancy pants phone with email so I’ve been avoiding this wretched machine as much as possible. Anyways, I just wanted to show you how the ladies are coming along, they are all getting hair right now but I’m throwing in some pics from a few weeks ago too.

Ahh, what we endure for beauty.

 
I wish I could say when they’ll be finished, but it is impossible for me to guess how long anything will take because I’ve never made this many at once. Every little step seems to drag on, I know I spent at least an entire day making underpants. I’m not complaining, I’m having fun and they’ll be finished when they’re finished :)

Lucky Me

So I actually won a giveaway during OWOH. I received my snowflake ornament last week, made by Becca Bilas. 

 

He is so sweet, I think Ill have to leave him in the window all year, too bad he doesn’t have any real snowflake buddies to hang out with. Thanks Becca!
